Help select the library’s location: www.columbusne.us/librarysurvey
Thank you for participating in the development of a new library building. We value your input as we strive to design the best project for our community.
Through roundtable discussions and three public surveys, the community has created an approximately 52,000 square foot program containing a Library, Children’s Museum, and multi-function community room with space for the Columbus Arts Council.
Now it is time to select a location for the project.
Many locations were explored, but ultimately narrowed to three location options. These three location options meet space requirements and will be able to accommodate adjacent parking. The other locations researched were eliminated for a variety of reasons including price to purchase and develop, land not for sale, or the lack of space large enough to accommodate the program, parking and room for future growth. Click to view map of locations able to meet project space requirements.
Each option has been evaluated by architects & construction professionals who suggested possible building footprint, parking location, and cost estimates.
These survey results will decide which location will move forward. Final design details for the building, parking, etc. will be completed if the project bond is approved by voters in November 2020.
