Animal Control

Columbus Animal Control is a division of the Columbus Police Department. The Animal Control officers enforce the animal ordinances within the City of Columbus. Officers pick up stray animals, address animal concerns or complaints such as neglect, abuse, noise complaints, exotic animals, animal bites, and dangerous animals. The mission of the Animal Control Department is to provide a safe environment for citizens and animals by educating the community through presentations, news articles, community outreach and when necessary issuing of enforcement.

Due to the nature of our job the Animal Control officers are frequently out of the office assisting the community. Please contact our office to schedule an appointment for administrative assistance. Your visit is important to us and we will work to meet with you at the earliest possible time.
