[ARCHIVED] Thanksgiving Holiday Closures and Changes

Some City of Columbus departments will be closed Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th in observance of the 2019 Thanksgiving holiday.

Those closed include Columbus Area Transit, Columbus Community Center, Columbus Police Department Lobby & front desk, and all departments located in City Hall.

The Columbus Public Library will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27th, and will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th.

The Aquatic Center will close at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27th, will be closed on Thursday, November 28th, and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. Friday, November 29th for adult-only laps and exercises, and from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. for open swim.

Columbus and Roselawn Cemeteries and all parks will be open. Quail Run and Van Berg Golf Courses will be open, weather permitting. Otherwise, pro-shop hours will be from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

The Columbus Transfer Station will be closed Thursday, November 28th. On Friday, November 29th the Solid Waste area will be open to licensed garbage haulers only from 8 a.m. to 12 Noon. The Yard Waste Site will be closed both Thursday and Friday and will re-open Saturday, November 30th for regular business.

The Street, Wastewater, Water Production and Water Utility Service Divisions will be on call for emergencies.

The Columbus Fire and Police Departments will be available for all public safety responses.
