[ARCHIVED] Community Clean-up – Free Dumping Days

For the appearance and betterment of our community, the City of Columbus is offering four Free Dump Days at the Transfer Station, 570 14th Avenue.

  • Friday, June 11th                    11 AM – 5 PM
  • Saturday, June 12th                 8 AM – 12 PM
  • Friday, June 18th                    11 AM – 5 PM
  • Saturday, June 19th                 8 AM – 12 PM

The free dumping is for Columbus residents only; commercial businesses are not included.  A certificate will be included in the water/sewer billing statements that residents will receive during the first week of June.  This certificate must be shown at the Transfer Station to dump for free during the specified dates and times.

 Accepted items:

  • Residential rubbish, trash, and junk
  • Small limbs or branches 3” diameter or smaller
  • Yard waste
  • Metal
  • Appliances without Freon

Items not allowed:

  • Paints, batteries, and electronics
  • Shingles and tires
  • Wood waste larger than 3” in diameter
  • Domestic household garbage
  • Hazardous waste
  • Appliances containing Freon 
  • Any liquid waste
  • Any items from commercial businesses

Electronics, Tires, and Household Hazardous Waste can be disposed of during recycling events held by Keep Columbus Beautiful periodically throughout the year.  For scheduling, check their Facebook page and their website: https://kcbne.com/events
