Usage of City Parks and Cemeteries

Until further notice, all City Parks will be closed to any team or group events or activities. Only activities in which social distancing can be observed will be allowed.

We ask that social distancing be observed at any funerals in city cemeteries.

Closure of 12th Avenue from 8th to 17th Streets for the Viaduct Project

Starting March 25, 2020, for a period of about six months, 12th Avenue from 8th to 17th Streets will be closed to through traffic due to the continuation of the 12th Avenue Viaduct project.

  • Access to the Columbus Cemetery will be from 12th Street.
  • Access to the Catholic Cemetery will be from 14th Street.
  • Access to the Dollar General will be from 9th Street.
  • Access to adjacent properties will be local traffic only when applicable.

Police Department Relocation Plans

The Columbus Police Department will begin its move on April 1st and continue through April 5th. The Police Department will be open for business Monday, April 6th at the new Police Station.

  • Columbus Public Library and Platte County Bookmobile Service

Coronavirus Precautionary Closures & Changes

In order to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus as much as possible, the following City of Columbus facilities will be closed until further notice:

Columbus Public Library and Platte County Bookmobile Services are closed until further notice. Due dates have been extended for all items and do not need to be returned while the library is closed. For Library questions please call: 402-564-7116.
