Community Outreach

Columbus Fire Department personnel provide fire safety education to the citizens of Columbus and the surrounding area. Our fire prevention programs include fire safety lectures and hands on fire extinguisher training. A Safety Education Trailer is also available for teaching children, as well as adults, about what to do in cases of severe weather. The safety education trailer includes instructions on fire sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers and fire/smoke alarm operation. Fire safety training is provided to businesses, schools and organizations at no charge and is available year round. The fire department conducts 30 to 40 presentations per year to hundreds of citizens. To schedule your fire safety training contact the Fire Department.
