Columbus residents can expect the traffic light at the intersection of 23rd Street and 36th Avenue to be fully operational in the coming weeks.
Mayor Jim Bulkley shared at the Feb. 6th City Council meeting that a parts delay hindered installation of the light sandwiched between Starbucks and Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers along West 23rd Street.
City Engineer Rick Bogus confirmed work has begun on the Nebraska Department of Transportation project and will continue. An exact date the light will be fully operational has not yet been determined; however, the project is getting closer to the finish line.
“We’ve continued to work with the developer for the completion of this traffic signal and we look forward to it being operational soon,” Bogus said.
