[ARCHIVED] Traffic light at 23rd Street and 36th Avenue operational

City of Columbus

The much-anticipated traffic light at the intersection of 23rd Street and 36th Avenue will be officially up and running again today, Feb. 27, 2023.

Nebraska Department of Transportation officials were on scene at the intersection near Starbucks and Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers mid-morning getting things ready to go.

The light had previously been scheduled to be operational earlier this month, but was delayed to a blast of winter weather that hit the area. NDOT officials a little before noon on Monday appeared to be in the final stage of getting the light ready to go.

“We’ve continued to work with the developer for the completion of this traffic signal and we look forward to it being operational,” City Engineer Rick Bogus said.
