The Columbus Police Department was busy Thursday morning.
Columbus Police officers in the early hours of March 16, 2023, brought a suspect into the Platte County Detention Center for two active arrest warrants, as well as on charges of possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and false reporting.
The search warrant was served to Rayann V. Bickerstaff (12/11/1989) at 3384 Mimick Lane. During the search warrant, officers said they were able to observe drugs and paraphernalia inside the residence. This was consistent with tips received from the community, according to Columbus Police Capt. Doug Molczyk, who added the residence had been previously identified as a suspected drug house.
A second search warrant was served at the residence for drugs and other drug-related contraband.
During the search, CPD officers reported locating more drugs concealed inside the residence. Evidence of drug distribution was also located, the police captain noted.
Additional arrest warrants are pending in connection with this case, Molczyk added.
“Thank you to the Nebraska State Patrol traffic units that assisted in the service of the search warrants,” Molczyk said.
