Numerous City of Columbus offices will be closed Monday, May 29th, 2023, in observance of Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is an American holiday on which those who died in active military service are remembered. It has been traditionally observed on May 30 but now officially recognized on the last Monday in May.
Animal Control, Columbus Area Transit and all offices located within City Hall will be closed on the holiday. Columbus Public Library will be closed Sunday, May 28th, and Monday, May 29th, in observance of it.
The Pawnee Plunge (weather permitting), Quail Run and Van Berg golf courses, Columbus and Roselawn cemeteries, as well as all parks, will be open.
The Columbus Transfer Station will be open Monday, May 29th, to licensed garbage haulers only from 8 a.m. to noon. The Yard Waste Site will be open Saturday and Sunday during their normal hours, but will be closed on Monday, May 29th.
The Street Department, Wastewater, Water Production and Water Utility Service will be on call for emergencies.
The Columbus Fire and Police departments will be available 24-7 for all public safety responses.
