[ARCHIVED] Superfund Building Demolition and Soil Abatement to Start September 28th

Building demolition, soil excavation, and site remediation work at three properties associated with the EPA 10th Street Superfund Site is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 28, 2015, and be substantially completed with the removal phase by the end of 2015. The project removals are scheduled to start with a property located on 23rd Street between 25th and 26th Avenues, then proceed to a property located on 25th Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets, and finally a property located on 24th Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets.

Temporary and partial street closures will occur in and around all three sites. US Highway 30 (23rd Street) is scheduled for eastbound lane adjustments and elimination of the center turn lane from approximately 23rd Ave to 27th Ave, starting as early as October 5th for a period of two to four weeks. Two lanes will be maintained in both the eastbound and westbound directions of 23rd Street.

Traffic and pedestrians are advised to use extreme caution in and around these areas.
