[ARCHIVED] Railroad Track Crossing Maintenance Work

Union Pacific Railroad will be providing maintenance work on the City crossings which include 3rd, 12th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, and 26th Avenues, and the County crossings at East 14th, East 29th, and East 44th Avenues.

The work will close two to three grouped crossings at one time, working through town from the west to the east. Thus, not all downtown crossings will be closed at one time. Work on 26th Avenue could begin as early as Sunday, April 30, 2016. The work at East 44th Avenue is anticipated to require two days to complete, and all crossing work should be completed later next week.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic crossing the railroad tracks should use extreme caution, obey the posted construction signs, and follow directions by the flag persons. Delays should be anticipated and expected.
