[ARCHIVED] Water System Tank Mixer Installations Thursday, July 27, 2017 and Saturday, July 29, 2017

The City will be installing new tank mixers within two of the City's water storage facilities in order to continue to provide quality water to our customers. These active mixing systems will promote consistent water quality, and reduce operational costs.

The first mixer will be installed at the North Water Storage Tank, located near 33rd Avenue and 66th Street, on the morning of Thursday, July 27, 2017.

The second mixer will be installed at the South Water Storage Tank, located near East Pawnee Park, on the morning of Saturday, July 29, 2017.

Properties within these areas may experience some temporary odor issues and discoloration in the water for a short period of time as the mixers adjust. This odor and discoloration is a result of the remixing of nutrients which are naturally occurring and not hazardous within the water source.

Residents and businesses are asked to run their water for approximately five (5) minutes before normal use, and the discoloration and odors should cease.

The City Staff will be monitoring the water supply as the mixers are being installed. The City anticipates no loss in water pressure during these tank mixer installations.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
