Posted on: March 27, 2018[ARCHIVED] Asphalt Improvement Project to Begin Thursday, March 29th
The asphalt paving contractor is scheduled to begin work on the asphalt improvement project this Thursday, March 29th and be complete in a couple of weeks, weather permitting.
Scheduled for March 29th and 30th is asphalt removal and construction on 23rd Avenue from 23rd Street to 27th Street and on 27th Street from 23rd to 26th Avenues around the Columbus Middle School during their scheduled Spring Break. The asphalt overlay project will continue on 27th Street from 26th to 48th Avenues for about another week.
Vehicle travel on these segments of 23rd Avenue and 27th Street will be limited, and delays should be anticipated and expected.
The adjacent residences and businesses are asked to not park on these segments of 23rd Avenue and 27th Street beginning March 29th until project completion in order to protect their vehicles and for the safety of the workers. The ban includes adjacent concrete angle parking areas.
Drivers and pedestrians shall use extreme caution in and around all of the work zones and adhere to the traffic control features and flag persons.
