On Sunday, September 22nd at 2 p.m., Steve Shively is coming to the Columbus Public Library to talk about “Our Nebraska Pioneer Heritage in Willa Cather’s Writings”. Steve is looking forward to sharing his knowledge of Cather's writings with us.
After graduating from Columbus High School, Steve went on to become an English Emeritus Professor. He has been a high school and college teacher for 42 years. Twelve of those years were at Utah State University. He specializes in the topic of Willa Cather and has offered to do follow up Willa Cather talks for teachers and their students at no charge. Maybe teachers could offer extra credit to students who attend this library program! Steve is supportive of libraries and schools, and would love to speak about Willa Cather and other authors. The Friends of the Library are hosting this free program sponsored by Carrol and Jane Novicki.
