Census forms for each household likely arrived in your mail this week. Since we all are spending more time at home right now, this will be a great time to complete the census!
Your response is required by law, but please be assured that all information collected is completely confidential. The results are reported in statistical format only. Under United States law, the Census Bureau can never share a respondent’s personal information with immigration or law enforcement, or allow it to be used to determine eligibility for government benefits. In addition, all Census Bureau employees swear a lifetime oath not to disclose any confidential census information, with the penalty of 5 years of imprisonment and/or a fine of $250,000.
How can you complete the Census:
ONLINE from NOW until April 1st, 2020 with the Census ID provided in your mailing
If you do not have access to the internet, the Census form will be mailed to you in a few weeks. Completing the census before April 1st online saves money and processes data more accurately.
Health clinics – schools – roads and highways – these are just a few of the ways the census can shape many different aspects of our community. Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding will flow into states and communities each year.
Let’s all do our part to make sure our community receives the benefits it deserves!
