[ARCHIVED] Robber's Cave

Joel Green will visit the library on June 10th at 7:00 PM to talk about the fascinating history of Robber's Cave in Lincoln, NE.

Joel tracks the cave’s ownership through the past century and beyond, which has included colorful characters, to say the least. From the legends of use by Central Plains Indians, Jesse James, and the Underground Railroad, to factual uses by Lincoln’s first brewery, Coxey’s Army, and the Ku Klux Klan, Joel not only examines the geological and man-made origins of the cave, but he includes entertaining anecdotes he has collected from guests as well. Joel won a Nebraska Book Award for nonfiction in 2019 for his book "Robber's Cave: Truths, Legends, Recollections". He is also the historian and tour guide for Robber's Cave in Lincoln. The Robber's Cave book is on its 5th printing, and the cave was the 2020 Nebraska Tourist Attraction of the Year finalist.
Bring your friends and family to the library for a fun afternoon learning about a piece of Nebraska's history.
