Do I need a sidewalk permit to replace substandard sections of my sidewalk?: Yes. The purpose of the sidewalk permit is to ensure that the walk is constructed in accordance with city specifications. The permit is free, and available at the engineering office on the second floor of City Hall, 2424 14th Street. An inspection by the Engineering Department will be scheduled at that time, at no cost to the applicant.

2. Am I required to provide storm water and erosion control at my building site, if it is less than one acre?: Yes. Even though you are not required to obtain a NPDES permit from the state, you are still required to prevent illicit discharges from your building site, in accordance with city code. All job sites are subject to inspection by the city storm water inspector.
