Is there an "Animal at Large" law in Columbus?: Yes, Columbus has an “Animal at Large” ordinance. All animals, regardless of the species, are required to be on a leash or tether when off the owner's property, and under the control of their owners at all times.

1. How do I license my pet and how much does it cost?: Dogs and cats are required to have a city animal license. Licenses can be purchased at Columbus Animal Hospital, Pet Care Specialists, Redstone Veterinary Hospital, Twin Rivers Veterinary Clinic, the Animal Control Office, and at Paws & Claws when an animal is being adopted. 2. How do I report an animal violation?: Animal complaints, lost animals, or strays can be called into the Animal Control Office or to the nonemergency number of the Police Department.
