Beth Augustine-Schulte is a lifelong resident of Columbus, where she attended the Columbus Public School System, graduated from Columbus High, and received an Associate's Degree in Performing Arts at Central Technical Community College, Platte Campus. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Education at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Upon graduation from Concordia, she began her teaching career at St. Bonaventure Catholic Grade School in Columbus where she taught fifth grade from 1991 until 1999, and music from 1999 until the present.

During her tenure in Columbus, Ms. Augustine-Schulte has been involved in The Area Arts Council, Platte Valley Playhouse, Columbus Community Band, and Big Pals-Little Pals. She has also served in her parish as a parish council member, Archdiocesan Pastoral Council member, and in numerous capacities as a teacher, musician, liturgist, choir director, and youth minister. In the spring of 2000 she was awarded the Gerhold Teacher of the Year Award and the Outstanding Catechist of Year Award from the Omaha Archdiocese.

Ms. Augustine-Schulte married Mr. David Schulte in October 2011. Between the two of them they have seven children, two sons-in-law, and four granddaughters. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, doing home projects with her husband, and spending time with her family.

She was appointed to fill an unexpired term on the City Council in 2009, was elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022. She is the current City Council President, and serves on the Public Finance, Judiciary and Personnel Committee.
