Troy Hiemer was born and raised in Columbus. After graduating from Scotus Central Catholic in 1987, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving abroad in the Desert Storm campaign with a Marine RECON unit before returning to Columbus.
Troy Recently joined the team of Bierman Contracting as a Projects / Estimator and Business Development Manager. Previously Troy was employed with Midwest Medical Transport Co. for 19 yrs as the Operations / Logistics Director. He was appointed by the Governor to the State EMS Board in 2008 and is currently serving his second five year term. He has also served as the past Vice Commander for the VFW post 3704 Columbus. Also for the past 16 years Troy has been a Volunteer for the Columbus Fire/Rescue department, most recently serving as Captain.
In 2016 Troy was elected to the City Council, and was re-elected in 2020. He currently serves as Chair of the Public Finance, Judiciary, and Personnel Committee. He and his wife, Deb, have three children, Nathan , Kyle and Alyssa, and are members of St Anthony’s Catholic Church. Troy enjoys camping and hunting, and loves spending time with his family & friends.
