39. By submitting this form you are expressing interest in the position of volunteer firefighter. Not everyone is accepted. There are minimum physical ability and medical requirements set by the Columbus Fire Department. There are minimum requirements for participation and for passing certification courses provided by the Department. A criminal background check is required. Additional requirements will be forwarded to you, and an interview will time will be arranged with you. Applicants are subject to successfully completing a volunteer firefighter academy and certification tests. The volunteer firefighter academy is hosted by the department as often as the department sees fit. Thank you for your interest in applying.
